Seven Pounds of depression

*Warning- spoiler alert* Don't continue reading if you haven't seen the movie Seven Pounds and you plan on watching it.

Wait, I need to reword that...

*Warning* Don't waste your money or your time watching the movie, Seven Pounds.

I just watched it last night and was completely depressed afterward. And thank goodness for the internet, because that's the only way I could get an answer to what the seven pounds meant. The words that kept coming to mind while I was watching... and waiting for it to get better... were "boring" and "confusion". I hate watching a movie and after the first hour I still cannot figure out what the heck is going on. Finally within the last 5 or 10 minutes it all came together, and frankly it left me feeling depressed and a little angry.

Luckily, I caught a glance of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie on TV before going to bed. It was nice to have the picture of Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow the pirate in my head, instead of Will Smith laying in a bathtub of ice water committing suicide. Creepy and depressing.

Yeah, yeah, I know... all those other people got a second chance at life. Will, or Ben, or Tim, or whatever the heck the main characters name was, got to redeem himself. And then kill himself. Hated it!

There, got that off my chest and I think I feel a little better now.

I did not plan to watch it b/c without even knowing the story line, I knew it would be depressing. See you saved me two hours of my life. Makes me think of Trainspotting - what was the point!

Betsy-
I had never heard of Trainspotting before, but just briefly read a little about it. And I agree, it sounds very depressing and like you said... what would be the point?

I realize that all movies don't need to be fun and feel-good, although those are definitely my favorite. Some that are realistic and have a heavy subject can be educational or eye-opening, but those are usually not the ones I'm drawn to. I like to escape and be entertained. Real life can be difficult enough!

Brenda, I could have told you not to watch that one, if you had only asked! I read the reviews for it and knew I wouldn't want to watch it. I check out www.pluggedinonline.com to read movie reviews. It's from a Christian perspective.

As far as Samson, AL goes, I've never heard of it before, so I couldn't tell you if it's near me or not. I guess I could do a google map and see.

Thanks for the congrats and for not giving up on my blog. My readership has really dwindled since I've not been posting as much. I've been way to distracted with facebook and don't feel as much need to blog. I'll try to start posting more again, though.

Christy-
Thanks, I'll check out pluggedinonline, although I don't typically like to go by what the critics have to say.

I think blogging has slowed down for a lot of people, especially since Twitter has taken off. But I'm still enjoying it so I'll keep posting for now, even if no one reads... sniff, lol.

Thanks for the warning...although, I really did plan on watching it, but now I know not to. I haven't been a big fan of Will Smiths movies lately...

A few people mentioned that they liked it, and I did like Pursuit of Happyness, so I guess I was expecting it to be similar. I don't like any of the far-fetched fantasy Will Smith movies though.
